Welcome to CIDL Inc !
Canadian International Distance Learning (CIDL) is a Canadian-Iranian company, incorporated in Ontario back in 2008 with the Ontario corporation number of 002192918. CIDL is based in the city of Toronto.
We have three main key functions:
- To make online education available to those Iranian fellows living all around the globe, aspiring to obtain an Ontario High school Diploma which is accepted by all colleges and universities in Canada, the UK, the USA, and throughout the world.
- To prepare the applications for admission to the North American Universities and Colleges for our high school graduates.
- To run a supplementary English course to improve learning skills for our online high school students.
Educational System in Canada:
In Canada Students start school from 3-6. Children start their pre-elementary from 6. Elementary school duration is from grade 1 to 8. High school is 4 years which is grade 9 to 12.
In order to earn Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) a Student must earn a minimum of 30 credits.
Grade 9: 8credits
Grade 10: 8credits
Grade 11: 8credits
Grade 12: 6credits
Including 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits. Students must also complete 40 hours of community involvement activities and must pass the provincial literacy requirement.
The Compulsory credits are as following:
- 4 credits in English ( 1 credit per Grade)
- 1 credit in French as a second language (Or the Literacy test for non English speaking students)
- 3 credit in Mathematics ( at least 1 credit in Grade 11 or 12 )
- 2 credits in science
- 1 credit in Canadian history
- 1 credit in Canadian geography
- 1 credit in the Arts
- 1 credit in Health and Physical education (Not Applicable for Online Education)
- 5 credit in Civics
- 5 credit in Career studies
Literacy Test
Students will normally take the literacy test when they are in Grade 10. The test will be based on the Ontario curriculum expectations for language and communication- particularly reading and writing-up to and including Grade 9.
Prior Education
Prior learning that has been occurred outside of Ontario should be evaluated to ensure that the previous knowledge meets the needs and expectations outlined in provincial curriculum policy. This formal evaluation is named Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).
